Abstract Background Vaginismus is a female sexual dysfunction affecting the quality of women and couple’s relationship. It considered main feminine cause unconsummated marriage in Egypt. The study aims assessment comorbid psychiatric disorders, personality levels alexithymia among sample with vaginismus. case-control where 30 diagnosed vaginismus following up psychosexual clinic Ain Shams University Hospitals were enrolled comparison to controls. Assessment was done based on socio-demographic data, Toronto Alexithymia scale (TAS-20), Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV-TR Axis I Disorders (SCID-I), DSM-IV II (SCID-II).
